Inscription Magazine publishes short science fiction and fantasy stories for teens. All our fiction is available for free on our site, and we publish a new story every month. We also have a forum where you can discuss our stories and meet other science fiction and fantasy readers!
We actively seek diversity for our stories — strong female characters, characters of color, and characters of a wide range of ethnicities, religions, sexualities, gender identities, and abilities. All authors deserve to be paid for their work, so we pay professional rates for all the fiction we publish.

What makes me qualified to edit for diversity?
Never enough, except that I’m doing my best. So I hope you’ll call us on it if we screw up here. My fellow editors and I come from a range of backgrounds and experiences. I do my best to privilege authentic voices and strong portrayals of diverse characters, and I welcome feedback, positive and negative, on this and all other topics, through the Contact Us page.
